Hoge Bergen is Dutch and means "Tall Mountain." The tiny country has many different fun things to do. They can sip there homemade hot chocolate or ski down the ski mountains in the crisp cool air. Also they can enjoy a great hunting expierence or just meet knew friends in the town. Hoge Bergen is unlike any other country. So come one, read on, and learn about my Culture!!
LOCATION
Hoge Bergen is located in the United States of America in Colorado. It is located in the Rocky Mountains in a mountain area called Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The town is also 100 miles away from another mountain range called San Juan mountains. The town is 20 miles away from Mt. Elbert. The altitude of where the country is, is around 14,433 feet. The town is very close to the Arkansas river. The latitude and longitude is 107 degrees West and 37 degrees North.
CLIMATE
The climate in the winter of Hoge Bergen is very cold!! The sun is always shinning but only raises the temperature about 5 degrees. All people wear sunscreen with hats, mittens, coats, boots, and snow-pants. It gets very windy in Hoge Bergen during the winter. In the summer many people wear sunscreen, cotton T-shirts, tennis shoes, and shorts in the summer. The temperature in the summer is always around a crisp cool 70 degrees.
LANDFORMS
Hoge Bergen has tons of landforms. There are many mountains in the country. Those mountains are used for skiing. There is also the Arkansas river that starts right in the town. Weathering has taken place in many of the mountains. You can find many odd shaped rocks!! It makes the ski runs more diffucult. In between the mountains there are valleys which usually have a small stream running down them. Hoge Bergen gets half of their water from those streams!! Lastly there are very tall monoliths in the middle of Hoge Bergen. It has become a tourist attraction.
RIVERS AND LAKES
Hoge Bergen has many streams. The streams are made from the tall mountains. When all the snow melts it goes into the valleys and streams toward a flat spot in the earth. Some famous streams are "Heldere Stroom" which means clear stream. Also "Druppelend Water" which means dripping water. Because Hoge Bergen is in the mountains all the water just drains away to Denver in Colorado so the country has no lakes. Luckly, Hoge Bergen made up the water wheel which picks up the water from the streams, cleans it, and ran through pipes to where the water is needed. The water is needed for drinking, cleaning, making snow for ski hills and much more.
NATURAL RESOURCES
Hoge Bergen has 3 main natural resources. The first is water. There are many streams in the valley's of the mountains. The water usually just flows into lakes in Denver Colorado but some is picked up by water wheels. Becuase of all the water the city began taking the water and putting it in bottles. Then they would ship it off to Denver. Soon most of the United States needed the water. More water wheels were built and the water buisness started. Today the water is called Disianni. The second is salt. A long time ago China had found salt in their mountains. Hoge Bergen got the news and started minning. 10 years later they found a mountain rich of salt. Today the mountain is called Mt. Elbert. Third is timber. Many years ago houses were needed to be built and they used , wood that came from trees. Hoge Bergen was located in the mountains where trees were everywhere! For a while people came and cut trees and sold them, until about 2 years ago they made a law that if u cut a tree down, you had to plant a new one. This slowed down the cutting of trees and preserved the beautiful mountains.
LANGUAGE
The population of Hoge Bergen speaks Dutch. The name of the country, rivers and mountains is all in Dutch. The only excpetin is Mt. Elbert which was named by Colorado. The alphabet song for Dutch is "A, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z, wie doet er mee? Dit zijn de letters van het alfabet. Wie zingt er mee van a tot z?" Some basic beliefs is that god came down to earth spreading good. Soon he was killed on a cross and buried. After that he rose out of his death. The Hoge Bergen people pray and give the sighn of peace. They believe in the bible. They also believe not to sin. You could say the people of Hoge Bergen are very religious!!

The Hoge Bergen population wear just about the same as everyone else. In the summer they wear cotton T-shirts and shorts. If the weather gets cool they wear denim jeans and a cotton sweatshirt. In the fall most people wear denim jeans with a T-shirt and a wool or cotton fleace. Hoge Bergen is full of jobs!! One job is ski intructing. Because of where Hoge Bergen is (in the mountains) there are many ski hills. Poeple need to learn how to ski before they can go on the hard runs. Ski instructers are paid 100 dollars an hour. Most ski intructers also work for ski patrol. Ski patrol is when someone gets hurt skiing they come, take them to the hospital and "fix them." Another big job is farming. Many people cut into the mountains to make them flat and farm their. The people that farm usually farm sugar, corn, and wheat. Another type of farmer is a dairy farmer. These farmers are located behind the town. They get milk from cows and make it into cheese, yogurt, ice-cream, or just keep it milk. Both of these farms help make Hoge Bergen's famous hot chocolate. They also are needed by other countries who don't have milk and wheat. The items are shipped off to many different places in the world. It depends on the farms size on how much they get for money. Thirdly is salt mining. Many men do this job becuase of how hard of work it is. For this job you travel deep into Mt. Elbert where salt is located. Men work with chisles and load tiny trains full of salt. The trains go into the town where it is shipped off. Lastly there are normal jobs that people all around the world do. You could become a lawyer or a teacher. Maybe a restuarant server or a office job.

The government in Hoge Bergen is very fair. Each person works for 4 years, like the Untied States president. The previous election was in 2007. They have courts, and all are open to the public. All elections are votes which means the public votes for who they want. The law is you have to be 18 to vote. There is a president that is the head of the country. The president is Jace Hipp. There are 4 sides (sides as in "Republican and Dominican") The 4 sides are "Free Democratic Party" "Social Democratic Party", "Chirstian Democratic Party" and "Hoge's People Party." There are usually no arguments between the population and the government. Most people agree with what the government wants. So you could say Hoge Bergen is a non agruementitive government. Hoge Bergen lets people have many rights and lets them be independent.

Hoge Bergen has many original foods. One food that Hoge Bergen is most famous for is chocolate. Most of the population puts this in their deserts. Some say it is good luck. They make chocolate from milk and sugar. Milk is another major drink. The Hoge Bergen people drink milk in all their meals. The main course is usually a big slice of bread with fresh vegtables and fruits with a type of meat, usually bear. The Hoge Bergen people like to eat healthy and most of the population is fit and strong.
EDUACATION
Hoge Bergen made a law 2 years ago that ALL kids must go to school. They made this law becuase they want the country to continue to grow. Children begin to go to school at 3. School is year round but you get 98 days when you don't have to go to school. Schools are usually high in the mountains so everyone can see it and get there in any weather. School looks the same as any other school and you learn the same things except parents can choose to let their children have desert at lunch. Also all lunches are fresh and homemade.

Hoge Bergen only has a one export. One is chocolate. All the chocolate is homemade with sugar milk and other ingrediants.
