Location

Eskiland is located at 71 degrees N and 156 degrees W. This is about where the city of Barrow, Alaska is right now.

Climate

Eskiland's climate is that of northern Aalaska. It is above freezing only 109 days of the year. Below freezing the other 256. However, being surrounded by the Alantic Ocean by three sides, it is not nearly as cold as it could be. It is so cold in Eskiland that occasionally they get "icebows", or rainbows made of ice crystals.

Eskiland has mainly tundra, harsh, barren, icy land. Eskiland is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean


Natural Phenomenons of Eskiland

Eskiland has many natural phenomenons. One is polar night, when the sun doesn't rise from November 18 to January 22 (65 days!). At winter solstice (December 22 or 23), Eskiland gets only three hours of "twilight" (when the sun is close to the horizon but doesn't rise). Another natural phenomenon is The Midnight Sun, when the sun doesn't set from May 11 to August 1 (83 days!) Many people visit Eskiland at this time of year to observe the crazy motion as the sun spins in circles in the sky. The last natural phenomenon is the Aurora Borealis, or Northern lights. Natural Resources


Eskiland has few natural resources. one is locally produced gas. Most other areas around Eskiland have to import gas, while Eskiland makes its own. Another resource is oil.


Language/Religion

Eskiland's main language is American English, however, there are small clusters of Inuit (NOT ESKIMOS!!! THIS IS A NORWIEGIAN WORD THAT WHEN ROUGHLY TRANSLATED MEANS: "STUPID PEOPLE WHO EAT RAW MEAT!!!) who speak Inuit. Thus the culture believes what the Inuit believes. The Inuit believes in animism, which is the belief that all biengs and objects ha ve a spirit. They believe that everything that happens is controlled by a spirit. Most people in Eskiland are Non-Denominational, meaning they are not Catholics, Lutherans, or anything else.


Clothing

Most Eskiland clothing is very warm. Most people wear Parkas about 3/4 of the year. The other 1/4 they usually wear sweatpants as it can get up to 75 degrees in June, July, and August.


Jobs/Occupations/Economy

Most People in Eskiland work for oil companies as oil is one of Eskilands main imports. Most other people work in the transportations industry.


Government

Eskiland's Government is an anarchy. This means they have no organized form of government.


Foods

The diet of all of Eskiland's people consits of Seal, arctic berries and fruit, imported from around the globe. This leads to a low level of obesity in Eskiland. Most people are very physically fit.

Education

Eskiland, having the only k-12 school in 50 Miles, means that they're education is extremely above average. They have the best facilities on the planet, because a 32 million dollar project will cost about $50 per $200,000 of your home.
